Teen Sensation Lauren Taveras

From California via Massachusetts, Lauren Taveras started singing at age 7 and moved to California to continue her career at age 10.  With her parents love and support, she has been taking singing lessons, co-writing her songs, performing including being on the X Factor TV series and making the Honor Roll at school.    Her first album “Destiny” debuted when she was age 11.  She put together a video of her song “Just a Number” to encourage people to vote in this year’s election.  The real theme of this song was ‘do what you love to do’ but she hoped her fans parent’s would vote also.

Lauren is inspired by Katy Perry who loves her fans.  One of Katy Perry’s other attributes that Lauren loves is how Katy wants her fans to relate to her music.  Ms. Taveras also wants her music to relate to her fans.  “Clap” is a theme of unity—bringing everyone together, “Through My Eyes” is all about people going through hardship including teens.  Her current project is a new song called “Innocent”.  While she co-writes her songs at this time, she loves writing and constantly has concept ideas for the songs she wants to do.  Her producer makes the music track and then Lauren and her co-writer put the lyrics to the track.

One of her long term goals is to win a Grammy.  She has had this goal since she was young but she also has a goal of being a role model for her fans.  One of the ways she accomplishes this is by maintaining her Honor Roll status at school.  While her school is also supportive of her singing career by being flexible with her schedule, she still has to do the work.  Not only for her favorite subject of Math but all of her subjects require work if she is going to maintain her Honor Roll status.   For more information on Lauren and her performances check out www.LaurenTaveras.com, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and YouTube.

Paper Dragon Ink asks 4 questions of every interviewee:

When the zombies take over the world where will you be?  Disneyland—I love scary movies.  The Halloween Horror Night in Universal Studios was great fun.

Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan—Which would you be?  Ninja—being mysterious sounds fun or maybe a fairy

What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or picture, do you think people must experience before they die?  “Prima Donna” by Marina & the Diamonds and singing lessons  “Prima Donna” is a fun catchy tune.

Give one fact that most people would not believe about you?  I was a soccer player and cheerleader in elementary school for 2 years.
