Magdalena #10, written by Ron Marz and pencils by Nelson Blake II and David Marquez, was an unexpected surprise for me to read. Magdalena is one that I really haven’t spent much time or money to read but I’ve I heard about before. To be honest, it wasn’t my thing to get into as a reader. This book, however, may make me take a closer look at the character.
I did enjoy how easy it was to follow along with the characters. For someone who doesn’t know who is who or what the plot of the story is, I didn’t feel lost after reading. The artwork was average but was able to go along with the writing to make it an interesting read. I wasn’t bored with little tidbits of information during the book and it just seemed to just move forward. The inks were nicely done to show a change of moods.
Overall, I liked the book and its characters, even though the story kind of rushed along in points. I’d recommend this book and might have to do some research on who the Magdalena character is and what’s she about.
