To be honest I guess I should start out with the fact that I am probably not Smalltime’s target audience. I am a true believer in the Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster but I try to keep an open mind with all things and there are Christian bands, life Fireflight,  that I like a lot so I popped in the CD with no preconceptions. That being said the band’s choice of lyrics seemed to be fixated on a clichéd society is bad / God is good theme  without the depth that I would think a true believer might be able to bring to the table.  There are exceptions, especially the first track, You Never Know, which talks of not giving up on people and reserving judgment.   The album is redeemed ( no pun intended) by the simple fact that this band can play. They are a straight forward rock and roll ensemble with some serious chops. Kenny Goorabian does a great job making sure every song is  filled with powerful guitar work. This is complimented by the immense vocal talents of Danny Van.    Overall I would say the band is worth checking out and if you are a fan on inspiration rock and roll it is a must pick up.
