New official trailer available for download
Roubaix , France – February 29, 2012 – With the release of its new massively multiplayer online role-playing game WAKFU, Ankama also published a new gameplay trailer which is available for download now. Furthermore, the French studio announced details about special subscription offers that will be available during the first month of WAKFU’s launch.

A hybrid business model
Ankama has decided to offer the online game WAKFU using a hybrid “freemium” model that combines free-to-play and membership models. The game is available to download and play for free, which will allow players to explore the game and its contents. With a subscription for 6 euros per month, players get access to the entire gaming experience. An online store also offers a number of cosmetic items to purchase. In-game item shop
The shop will sell emotes and sets and will also allow players to customize their pet and Haven Bag (a combination shop and home inside the game). Weapons and rings that level-up with the player will also be available. These items will begin with 0 stats, but they will improve based on the player’s performance. However, the items will not exceed the stats of other items that can be created or dropped in-game. All of these objects can only be purchased with Ogrines, a special currency that can be used in Ankama games.
Discount on subscription packages until March 31
For the first month of WAKFU’s existence, WAKFU memberships can be purchased at a reduced rate. Payment in Euros and Ogrines are accepted.

The future of WAKFU
The development team is already working on future content updates: new classes, new conquerable islands (areas that are focused around Player vs. Player combat) and islands that can be unlocked by the cooperative efforts of players (areas that are focused on Players vs. Environment), new dungeons and new chapters of the Mount Zinit quest, the main quest line of the game, focusing on challenging Ogrest and restoring balance to the World of Twelve.
