Current projects

More Rittenhouse Cards, a few book ideas that I swear I’ll make happen this year!

What was your first project that made you feel like a real artist and how did you get it?

The “Kitty and Dino” children’s book I illustrated. It’s published and the most work I’ve done on a project. But I’m really proud of it! I got to work with a publishing company and have a meeting in New York City and it was something that made me feel like an accomplished artist!

What is your primary inspiration when creating art?

I want to create something different and beautiful. Something that makes people stop and take an extra second to get lost in.

What other artists do you use to learn technique?

I look at Mucha, Margaret MacDonald Mackintosh, Susan Seddon- Boulet, Michael Parkes, Erte, Audubon, William Stout, Joe Wetherly and Dave Coleman are the ones that come to mind :)

Where would you like to see yourself in five years with your art?

I want to have at least 3 more books, gallery shows and maybe a potential movie deal. Haha!

What would your dream project be?

Oh i have a few :)

Anything to do with Dinosaurs, maybe doing a gallery show alongside dino skeletons in a natural history museum. Concept art for a show or movie, maybe some poster work for a movie a cover for one of my favorite comics…..so many ideas!

Final four questions –we ask everybody

Q) When the zombies take over the world where will you be?

R) Up on a steep hill I can see any oncoming zombies in a steel reinforced log cabin in the wilds of New

Hampshire. Makes perfect sense right? Beautiful location and practical.

Q) Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan?

R) Were-wolf. They’re super cool.

Q) What piece of art, be it in the form of music, a book, a film or picture, do you think people mustexperience before they die?

R) Hang gliding. It’s an art in itself. Book wise, “The Book of Flying” by Keith Miller. See a theme?

Q) Give one fact that most people would not believe about you?

R) Terrified of centipedes….the only thing I get up on a chair and freak out like a girlie girl over. Also I’m a hang glider pilot.
