Welcome to Brevard County. Where the most interesting thing to do; is go fishing in the Indian River Lagoon. Until of course the day officer Monique ‘Moni’ Williams is called out to a crimes scene so horrific it’s a wonder that an eight year old child survived. However Mariella did survive.

When Moni sees the dirty tiered eight year old girl she makes the biggest mistake an Officer on a murder investigation can make. She chooses to take Mariella into her home. But with all the Ghosts that hide in Moni’s closet. It’s a wonder she has keeped her head on her shoulders, or how long it might stay there.

A killer that took Mariellas’ parents is leaving a string of headless bodies all along the shore of the lagoon. This serial killer takes more and more each day. However the police have a hard time understanding the evidence that keeps mounting favor of murderous mutants that are denizens of the lagoon. When the Lunatic witnesses start to die; and the only surviving witness hasn’t spoken since she was found pressure is mounting to get Mariella to talk.

While this story is well thought-out and Captivating I soon became tiered of Moniques self-deprecating attitude. It was clear to me that she was the only person standing in her own way. And while her life had not been easy she had chosen it for herself. This is not a story of a strong woman defending a child. This is the story of a woman who is just as lost and alone as the child she has chosen to shield.

Brian Bandell is a highly imaginative individual who has turned his warped and demented mind to the fanciful writings of Science Fiction. For that we should all be truly grateful.

The novel is available exclusively on Amazon Kindle its part of the library for Kindle Prime subscribers. It will be released on other platforms in the fall.
