Interview questions
How did you get your start in music?
All of us have been playing for a long time, especially Stan, Kegger and Dan who
have been in numerous bands over the years. Hellrazer originally started as a
fun project. The original lineup met at work and after goofing around with some
covers, we started writing our own material, culminating in our first CD. It
received considerable airplay on metal stations around the globe. Original
founding members Hoss and P.O.D. decided to leave the band in Nov. 2008 because
they become too busy with work, and were replaced by Stan Nakanishi and Dan
Houser who have really taken to band to a new level. We have been working on our
new CD since then and started gigging more frequently. We are thinking of
putting together a tour through Europe sometime next year.
who are your biggest musical influences
Judas Priest, Gamma Ray, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth etc.
What is your biggest inspiration when creating music?
it varies. several of our newest tunes were inspired by movies such as "V for
Vendetta", "Ghost Rider" and "The Last Days of Sophie Scholl". One of our new
tunes "Metal Alliance" was written in honor of the Hellbound Metal Alliance
which is a group dedicated to promoting metal on myspace and which has been
really supportive Hellrazer.
Could you give us the details of your current project.
Our new CD is entitled "Prisoner of the Mind". Compared to our first CD, the
material is much more mature and stylistically similar to classic Painkiller era
Priest and Gamma Ray. We have played a lot of our new material live, and people
realy seem tom like it. The cover art was created by Anestis Goudas who is a
very talented Greek designer. We are close to being finished with the
recordings, all that's missing are the lead guitars, and some tweaking of the
vocals.
What is the next goal you would like to achieve with your
music?
World domination of metal......

When the zombies take over the world where will you be?
We shall rule the Zombies (actually, a lot of the people that come to our shows
sort of look like Zombies...)
Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan?
That's gotta be Pirate - aaaarrrgh
What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or picture,
do you think people must experience before they die?
I guess that depends on people's taste. I think people need to experience places
such as Hiroshima or Auschwitz so that we makes sure that history does not
repeat itself.
Give one fact that most people would not believe about
you?
Three band members are brain researchers, our bass player is an anthropologist
