Interview questions

How did you get your start in music?

I started playing guitar at about age 7 and from there began writing and then recording my own music. I've fronted or have been a member of several bands over the years and I still do some session and sub work, too.

who are your biggest musical influence:

Early on it was bands like Rush, Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, and Black Sabbath. Rush has probably been the biggest influence then over the last decade, other prog bands like Dream Theater and Spock's Beard and Porcupine Tree. Lately, I've been paying more attention to bands like Ark, Avantasia, Masterplan, and Jorn Lande's solo stuff.

What is your biggest inspiration when creating music?

Usually, it's current events and politics. Sometimes I'll come up with some fantasy or fictional thing that illustrates a broader philosophical principle. Sometimes I'll just get all heady and just fiddle with soundscapes, not even looking ot go in a particular direction; just see where it takes me.

Could you give us the details of your current project.

The current project has a working title of "Iconoclast". It's going to be a little heavier and more politically radical than the first CD. It will still have a lot of the orchestral elements, odd time signatures or change ups, but some of the songs have an electronic or industrial element and feel to them. That's something I actually didn't expect. It's just kinda happening that way.

What is the next goal you would like to achieve with your music?

For this particular CD I want a little better recording and production quality. The first CD is good, but looking back, you always hear things that could have been done differently or better. More sales would be nice and more gigs.

final four (questions we ask all interviewees)

When the zombies take over the world where will you be?

Zombies have already taken over the world. They come out every election.

Jedi, Ninja, vampire, were-wolf, pirate, fairy or Spartan?

Tough choice. What if I said I were a Spartan on a Pirate ship, fighting with a Jedi Light Sabre and Ninja Throwing Stars against Vampires and Werewolves to save my Fairy princess?

What one piece of art, be it music, book, film or picture, do you think people must experience before they die?

MUSIC: Of course, one MUST experience the first Temple 8 CD "Enter the Temple" before they die. Listen to it front-to-back a few times. I promise it will change your life. ;-) -- BOOK: Read "The Iron Web" by Larken Rose

Give one fact that most people would not believe about you?

The one fact that most people would not believe about me is that there is not one fact about me that most people would not believe.
